Thumb

This position allowed him to diagnose, treat and support the rehabilitation of world class players including Chris Gayle, Andre Russell and Shai Hope. In January 2022 Dave was approached by Cricket Scotland to work as a Consultant Physiotherapist at the Men’s U19 World Cup. This was a particularly challenging post as he was the sole medic on tour whilst working within the constraints of a COVID bubble for the duration of the tournament.

Prior to this he held many prestigious positions in the elite sporting arena including Head Physiotherapist for Lancashire County Cricket Club and Oldham Athletic Football Club and Consultant Physiotherapist for Bristol City FC. Dave started his career at the Centre of Sporting Excellence at Bath University working with Commonwealth and Olympic athletes and has also worked for the English Cricket Board. By working in these sporting environments and treating the likes of Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff, James “Jimmy” Anderson and Muttiah Muralitharan, Dave has developed specialist expertise in the treatment and rehabilitation of spinal, shoulder, knee and ankle disorders.

Alongside his training and experience from the world of professional sport, Dave has personal sporting interests and accolades most notably having competed in National swimming competitions, representing Harlequins RFC and running many half and full marathons. He has also completed an Ironman in less than 12 hours which is quite an achievement! Recently Dave performed the Kessock ferry swim and the following day took part in the 5km swim leg of the Monster Triathlon in Lochness which he completed in a very respectful 3rd place!
